WEST DEPTFORD, N.J. (Oct. 30, 2016) – One week after it was supposed to close its season and was postponed by rain, the Rutgers University-Camden women's tennis team wrapped up its fall campaign here Sunday at the RiverWinds Golf & Tennis facility, dropping a 6-3 decision against Kean University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match.
 
Not only was the match was the final one of the season for the Scarlet Raptors, but it also served as Senior Day for a pair of departing players as the Raptors celebrated seniors 
Christine Abacan (Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood) and 
Millie Kipp (West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford). Abacan, who was unable to attend the final match, was a four-year letterwinner with the tennis program, while 
Millie Kipp joined the program during her senior year this semester after previously starring with the Rutgers-Camden cross country, indoor and outdoor track programs.
 
Kean closes its season with an 8-4 record overall and a 4-2 mark in the NJAC, while Rutgers-Camden ends at 1-9 overall and 0-6 in the conference.
Rutgers-Camden's victories came from its stellar freshman duo of 
Annalise Kipp (West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) 
and 
Danielle Lemma (Haddon Township, NJ/Haddon Township). Both players won their singles match, with 
Annalise Kipp winning at first singles when her opponent retired after Kipp built a 5-4 lead. Lemma, meanwhile, took a 6-0, 6-1 victory at second singles. The duo also combined for an 8-2 victory at first doubles.
 
At third singles, sophomore 
Ashley Flores (Camden, NJ/Moorestown Friends) dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision. 
Millie Kipp lost her match at fourth singles by a 6-1, 6-0 score, while freshman 
Trinh Nguyen (Somerdale, NJ/Sterling) and sophomore 
Bryana Foxx-Parham (Richmond, VA/Armstrong) were beaten at fifth and sixth singles, respectively, by scores of 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-0.
 
Kean won the second doubles, 8-2, over 
Millie Kipp and Flores, while Nguyen and Foxx-Parham dropped an 8-1 decision at third doubles.
 
Annalise Kipp finished her maiden season with a 5-5 singles record, all at the first flight, while Lemma went 7-3 in singles (4-2 at second singles and 3-1 at third). They combined to post a 4-5 mark at first doubles. Kipp also went 0-1 at first doubles with Abacan, while Lemma was 0-1 at second doubles with Flores.
