Biography
Lilia Ortiz earned her first collegiate letter as a member of the Rutgers-Camden basketball team over the winter. She joins the softball program this spring.
Basketball 2025-26: Appeared in 13 games, making her debut against Baruch College (Nov. 14)…Collected four points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal…Had a high of two points (1-for-3 on field goal attempts) against Gwynedd Mercy (Nov. 19)…Had one rebound apiece against Gwynedd Mercy, Kean (Jan. 10), William Paterson (Jan. 17) and Rutgers-Newark (Jan. 18)…Had one assists against Stockton (Jan. 7) and one steal against Cedar Crest (Mar. 7).
High School: Multi-talented athlete who earned 10 varsity letters at Absegami High School, including four apiece in basketball and softball…Also joined the field hockey program for her final two years, earning a pair of varsity letters…Captured a Coach’s Award in basketball as a senior for Coach Bob Lasko…National Honor Society and Principal’s Awards as a senior…Varsity Scholar every year from her freshman through her senior year…Graduated in 2025…
Personal: Born February 4, 2007…Lilia “Lily” Ortiz…Loves the beach, drawing and painting…Nursing major at Rutgers-Camden whose post-graduation plans are “to become a NICS nurse and make my parents proud”…Lilia is the daughter of Jennifer and Clemente Ortiz of Galloway.
