Ramapo College bests Rutgers-Camden

CAMDEN, NJ (Sept. 6, 2013) - The Rutgers-Camden women's tennis team lost 6-3 to NJAC rival Ramapo College this afternoon.

The Roadrunners took two matches in doubles play. Amanda Hickman (Millville, NJ/Millville) and Morgan Kelly (Sicklerville, NJ/Paul IV) lost 8-6 in the first spot. In the second spot, Avery Forte (Pitman, NJ/Pitman) and Kelly Bates (Pitman, NJ/Pitman) lost 8-1. Kelsey Mercer (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) and Amy Tung (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill) won 8-6 in third doubles.

In singles action, the Scarlet Raptors won two matches over the Ramapo. Amanda Hickman won 6-1, 6-1 in the first spot. Kelly Bates won 6-1, 6-3 in the sixth spot.

Rutgers-Camden (2-3, NJAC 0-1) will host Rutgers-Newark on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 3:30pm.
