Diana Befoh returns for her third year with the Rutgers-Camden women’s cross country program this fall. She also has earned two letters with the outdoor track program and one with the indoor team during her two years at Rutgers-Camden.
Befoh helped to set an indoor program record in the 4x200 during her freshman season and also has captured four academic honors at Rutgers-Camden.
Program Records (through 2017-18 school year): Indoor Track – 4x200 (1:55.80) with Alisha Singleton, Nicolette Stafford and Shontiana Butcher at the NJAC Championships (Feb. 20, 2017).
Academics: ECAC 2018 Spring Semester President’s Academic Honor Roll; Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2016 Fall, 2017 Spring and 2018 Spring semesters.
Outdoor Track 2018: Competed in four meets…Ran the 400-meter dash three times, the 200-meter dash twice and also competed once apiece with the 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams, setting PR marks in both relays…Opened her season at the Oscar Moore Open (April 6), helping the 4x200 team finish third of three teams in a 1:57.48 clocking…At the Gwynedd Mercy Mid-Week Twilight Invitational (April 11), finished 23rd of 25 in the 400-meter dash (1:14.29) and seventh of eight with the 4x100 (55.40)…Ran both the 200- and 400-meter dashes at the Osprey Open (April 14) and Widener Invitational (April 21)…At the Osprey Open, finished 35th of 42 at 200 meters (30.35) and 24th of 32 at 400 meters (1:12.11)…At Widener, placed 86th of 93 at 200 meters (31.10) and 70th of 70 at 400 meters (1:12.86).
Cross Country 2017: Was one of the Scarlet Raptors’ top four runners in all five of her 6K fall invitationals…Finished second on the team and 73rd of 109 overall (31:54.50) at the Bill Fritz Invitational (Sept. 16)…Placed third on the team and 83rd of 152 overall (29:18.9) at the NJAIAW race (Sept. 23)…Finished 32nd of 82 overall and third on the Raptors at the Jack Saint Clair Memorial invitational (Oct. 7)…Placed fourth on the team at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Oct. 28), finishing 75th of 100 overall in a time of 28:51.77…Set her personal best 6K time of 28:47.5 at the season-ending NCAA Atlantic Regionals (Nov. 11), finishing fourth on the team and 250th of 285 overall.
Outdoor Track 2017: Competed in the 400-meter dash in all five of her spring invitationals, while also running at 800 meters four times…Added one competition apiece in the 200-meter dash and as the second leg of the 4x400…Notched a time of 1:07.63 in the 400-meter dash (19th of 22) and 2:50.89 at 800 meters (24th of 29) at the Golden Rams Invitational (March 25)…At the Stockton Invitational (April 1) ran both the 400 (1:09.71, 13th of 16) and 800 (2:58.04, 12th of 15)…Placed eighth of 11 in the 400 (1:08.71) and eighth of eight in the 800 (2:58.32) at the Oscar Moore Open (April 8), then placed 53rd of 69 at 400 meters (1:07.31) and 77th of 88 at 800 meters (2:54.03) at the Widener Invitational (April 22)…On the first day of the New Jersey Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May 6), placed 15th of 17 in the 400-meter dash preliminaries (1:08.62) and 24th of 27 in the 200-meter prelims (29.76)…The next day at the conference championships, helped the 4x400 team place sixth of eight (4:22.15).
Indoor Track 2016-17: Competed in five meets, making her collegiate indoor track debut at the Bow-Tie Classic (Dec. 3) by finishing 14th of 23 in the 400-meter dash (1:10.16), ninth of 18 at 800 meters (3:00.24) and sixth of seven at 3,000 meters (13:52.21)…Ran the second leg of the 1600 Sprint Medley team that finished sixth of seven with a program record 4:47.52 clocking at the Wagner Seahawk Shootout (Dec. 9)…Also ran the 600-meter dash (2:03.71) at that event, finishing 28th of 28…Placed seven of 10 at 800 meters (3:03.00) at the Wagner Field Meet (Jan. 27)…Set her personal best at 800 meters (2:52.63) while finishing 47th of 66 at the St. Joseph’s College Invitational (Feb. 11)…Finished 16th of 20 at 800 meters (2:52.92) and anchored the 4x200 team to a program record (1:55.80) at the NJAC Indoor Track & Field Championships (Feb. 20).
Cross Country 2016: Ran in four 6K events for the Scarlet Raptors, making her debut at the Jack Saint Clair Memorial (Oct. 8), where she finished fourth on the team and 126th of 160 overall (32:29.3)…Was fourth on the Raptors and 369th of 386 overall in a time of 29:19.3 at the Inter Regional Border Battle (Oct. 15)…Placed third on the team and 77th of 89 runners in a time of 29:24.26 at the NJAC Championships Oct. 29…Closed her season with a personal best time of 29:16.8 at the NCAA Atlantic Regionals (Nov. 12), finishing fourth on the Scarlet Raptors and 289th of 304 overall.
High School: Graduated in 2016 from Burlington County Institute of Technology in Westampton where she ran cross country for Coach Travis Murphy and was a member of the cheerleading team…Also ran winter track at Burlington Township High School during her senior year, since BCIT didn’t have a track program…Captain of the cross country team…Earned four letters overall in cross country, winning team MVP honors as a junior and a senior…Captured a Captain Award for cross country…All-Conference in cross country…Academically, earned a People’s’ Choice and Student of the Month honor during her freshman year…Captured Smart Cookie honors as a freshman and a sophomore, awards that “are given every month to one student in the classroom for academic accomplishments such as completing all homework, being prepared for class, participating in class discussions, highest quiz and test averages, etc.”…Honor Roll, High Honor Roll and Principal’s Honor Roll student.
