GLENSIDE, Penn. (Sept. 11, 2024) – Before the Rutgers University-Camden men's soccer team had settled into its road game here Wednesday night, the Scarlet Raptors found themselves trailing by two goals.
Despite dominating on the stat sheet, the Scarlet Raptors never caught up as they fell to Arcadia University, 2-1.
With their second straight one-goal loss, the Scarlet Raptors drop to 3-2. Arcadia improves to 4-1.
Junior midfielder Declan Kelly scored only 1:12 into the game for the Knights and Arcadia added another goal on a penalty kick at 8:08 by junior back Sean Lock.
Rutgers-Camden was denied on its own penalty kick in the 23rd minute, with Arcadia junior keeper Aden Razukiewicz making the save, but the Scarlet Raptors cut the lead in half in the 35th minute. A long shot by sophomore back

Despite its deficit, Rutgers-Camden dominated the first half with an 11-2 advantage in shots (4-2 on goal) and a 5-0 margin in corner kicks. The Raptors kept the pressure on in the second half, finishing with a 19-4 advantage in shots and a 10-0 margin in corner kicks, but couldn't manage to get the tying goal.

The Scarlet Raptors return to action this weekend with back-to-back 2 p.m. games against strong teams in Virginia. On Saturday, the Raptors play at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, with the Captains heading into the game 2-0-2 and receiving votes toward the United Soccer Coaches Division III Top 25 poll. On Sunday, Rutgers-Camden plays in Virginia Beach against Virginia Wesleyan University, which will enter its Saturday game against Catholic University with a 4-1 record.
